MVP beat the Borough

MVP came through a very tricky test against our friends and close neighbours Lewisham.

Boroughs much improved form this season meant we were in for a very difficult afternoon and the early exchanges were fairly even Steven!!!

However, MVP came into the contest and managed to take the lead through a close range header from Fotso. We continued to press but our second goal was to come from a fine free kick from Nzodjeka who stroked a wonderfull free kick into the Borough net.  We negotiated the rest of the half to go in 2-0.

Lewisham came out in determined fashion and did reduce the arrears with a cool finish from their striker. He  burst through the MVP defence well to score to make it 2-1. Then MVP scored the goal of the game when McConville started a finished a wonderfull move where he ran 3/4 of the length of the pitch then following an interchange of passes with Pama he ran on to score a terrific goal.

Borough to their credit fought back and their sub scored a decent long range effort to make the score 3-2.

MVP’s freescoring striker Pama then got on the scoresheet with a deflected free kick which sailed high into the air and dropped into the corner. The away keeper couldn’t get anywhere near the ball and it nestled in the corner.

Then in the dying embers Borough scored yet again with a close range header.

This entertaining affair then came to an end leaving the final score 4-3 to MVP and another 3 points.

Next up for MVP we are away to Phoenix Sports reserves. Details on the site tomorrow.
