MVP rue missed chances

MVP went over to Phoenix Sports Reserves Last Tuesday evening full of optimism looking for another 3 points. Our opponents proved worthy adversaries as the squally weather swept round the ground. Early exchanges were even as both sides made good starts.

However, it was MVP who made the breakthrough when McCarthy got past his opponent well and fired low past the keeper. McCarthy was the main attacking threat up until his well deserved goal. Sending in a succession of excellent crosses of which we couldn’t capitalise on

MVP went in 1-0 up.

Phoenix came up much the brighter and put us under some good early pressure changing their tactics well.  Their positive approach led to an equaliser when following a free kick into the box they scored with a good header 1-1

This rejuvenated MVP and we led a sustained attack to try and get a winner. However, we missed 3 gilt edged chances to win the game. The over zealous ref then blew his whistle indicating full time. Honours even 1-1.

Next up we face K Sports away this coming Saturday.

We would like to thank our sponsors Karma Furnishings for their continued support.
